Toby Stannard Crowned National Champion at Red Bull Dance Your Style 2025

On Saturday 9th August, the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Final brought energy and excitement to Birmingham, UK, as the electrifying street dance battles came to the city for the very first time. An incredible evening of dance culminated in a sequence of unforgettable battles, music, and celebration. After a series of qualifier events across the country, 16 of the top dancers came together to compete for the national title.

Through a thrilling single-elimination format, each dancer showcased their individuality, musicality, and freestyle skills in front of a packed crowd. In the end, Toby Stannard, earned the audience’s vote and was crowned National Champion, securing his spot to represent the United Kingdom at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Los Angeles on October 11, 2025.

“It’s unbelievable to think I finished top of the pile with such a high-quality pool of dancers. Moments like this last a lifetime,” said Toby.

The national final featured a vibrant mix of dance styles and regional influences, from popping and krump to local street styles unique to the host city. The event also highlighted special performances by local dance crews and artists, celebrating the diversity and power of street dance culture – with dance workshops and performances throughout the day, including Vogueing, Hip Hop, Krump and Bhangra.

UK artist, Panjabi MC, also performed a special half time set, including his international hit song “Mundian To Bach Ke”, which helped propel Panjabi music to a global, mainstream audience. Despite being over twenty years old, the iconic track is still regularly played worldwide. The winning performance from last year’s Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Mumbai featured the song, with the video going viral on TikTok with over 25 million views, and the dancer bringing a new energy to the timeless hit.

Toby Stannard, 30, originally from Poole, has been dancing for 15 years, always with a passion for ‘popping’. Of the style, Toby said: “Some people may not understand hip hop, they may not understand locking, but everyone understands popping – and when they see it, it always has the wow factor.”

The Birmingham event was Toby’s fourth consecutive time competing in Red Bull Dance Your Style UK – his hard work finally paying off, taking home the trophy after an incredible performance.

Red Bull Dance Your Style is a global all-styles street dance event series with a unique battle format. From hip hop to house, and to locking to popping – dancers participating in Red Bull Dance Your Style need to ‘wow’ the crowd and ultimately win their vote. Testing freestyle and musicality skills through unpredictable mainstream tracks ranging from recent global hits to classic beats, Red Bull Dance Your Style will have the crowd deciding who rules the dance floor.

For the first time ever, Los Angeles will host the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final on October 11, 2025! The City of Angels will welcome the best international street dancers from 50+ countries to perform in this unique one-on-one mixed-style dance battle, where you – the audience – decide who takes home the coveted title.
