The National Center for Dance Bucharest Announces Dance.Context.Showcase
The National Center for Dance Bucharest (CNDB) announces Dance.Context.Showcase, a contemporary dance showcase designed to present the most significant Romanian contemporary dance works of recent years to an audience of international festival programmers, members of international networks and the general public.
The showcase includes an eclectic selection of 11 contemporary dance performances, curated by seven diverse dance professionals and will take place April 24-27 2025 in Bucharest, Romania.
Dance.Context.Showcase brings together a curated collection of contemporary dance and performance works from Romania, fostering a robust national network of dance festivals and performing arts institutions. Its mission is to promote contemporary dance and expand opportunities for sharing these creations. The selected performances reach not only the general public but also key figures in the field, including directors of theater and choreographic centers, festival organizers, curators, educators, cultural managers, dance producers, and representatives from European dance networks.
Established in 2004, the National Center for Dance Bucharest (CNDB) stands as a vital force in shaping Romanian dance culture through its unique structure. As both a producer and host of performances, CNDB balances equally critical missions: advancing research, documentation, and archiving while fostering art education and professional training initiatives. By generating, organizing, and promoting programs and projects, CNDB nurtures contemporary dance culture and supports the local scene’s engagement in a global dialogue.
