The Hammond is coming to Dublin!

Each year, the Hammond reviews its application and audition process and responds to requests and interest. Following overwhelming feedback, the Hammond is excited to announce that it will be hosting auditions in Dublin Saturday, 24 February 2024, for entry to The Hammond in September 2024.

The Hammond is a performing arts boarding school based in Chester. Recognised as a national centre of excellence for Dance training and a member of the Music and Dance Scheme (MDS) – providing funded places for talented dancers aged eleven to sixteen. In recent years they have further expanded their provision for Acting and Music training, developing our Theatre Arts courses to support aspiring young actors and musicians in reaching their full potential as creative and performing artists.

The Hammond is a vibrant performing arts community for students of all ages; they also offer Level 6 Professional Trinity Diploma in Dance or Musical Theatre, a Theatre Arts Advanced course for Sixth Form aged students, a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance and co-deliver a BA (Hons) in Dance with the University of Chester.

The Hammond offers academic excellence, first-rate vocational training, as well as expert guidance and pastoral support to ensure all pupils and students develop into responsible, caring and thoughtful members of the community. They are humbled every day by the way our young people thrive both vocationally and academically and they are dedicated to increasing opportunities for young, talented performers to train with them.

The audition process is all about seeing your passion for performance shine through, so don’t be too nervous, The Hammond wants you to have a fun day doing what you love.

Once you apply, you will be sent details of the timings, what you need to bring and what will be expected of you on the day – there won’t be any surprises!

There’s no application or audition fee for any courses The Hammond offers – they are dedicated to removing as many barriers to entry as possible to ensure talented young dancers can gain the training they need to be the performing arts professionals of the future.
