The Fonteyn arrives in Brazil in 2025!

The Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition will be coming to São Paulo, Brazil, in 2025. This will be the first time that the competition has taken place in South America and RAD can’t wait to welcome participants from around the world.

The Fonteyn is the Royal Academy of Dance’s (RAD) annual flagship event and presents an opportunity for participants to grow, build friendships with some of the next generation of dancers, as well as having the chance to win prize money and take a step towards a rewarding career in dance.

Introducing the news, RAD Artistic Director, Alexander Campbell says: “I’m delighted to be taking the Fonteyn 2025 to Brazil for the first time, and to be staging the event at the instantly recognisable Auditório Ibirapuera will be very special indeed.”

The competition will take place on 11-19 October 2025,with coaching at Estudio de Ballet Cisne Negro, and the semi-finals and final being staged at the prestigious Auditório Ibirapuera.
