Step into the Life of a Professional Dancer with Phoenix Dance Theatre

Take the next step in your dance journey with Phoenix Dance Theatre’s Graduate Summer Intensive. This year’s intensive runs 21 July – 25 July from 10 AM – 5:30 PM daily. This five-day intensive is designed to challenge and inspire recent dance graduates, bridging the gap between training and professional life. The course provides the unique opportunity to work with Phoenix Dance Theatre’s company dancers, Artistic Director Marcus Jarrell Willis and Head of Artistic Management Matthew Topliss.

Phoenix Dance Theatre’s intensive is a rare opportunity to step into the life of a professional dance artist within a repertoire company setting and to help support the transition from full time training to working in the profession. Throughout the week, you will gain insight into what it’s like to be a working professional in the dance world; preparing you for the next chapter in your career.

The week-long intensive allows participants to become fully immersed in the professional dance world. Over five days, you’ll experience the daily routine of a company member and gain insight into life as a full-time dancer.

Throughout the week you’ll enjoy 90-minute morning professional company classes (contemporary and/or ballet). You’ll also learn and perform choreography from Phoenix Dance Theatre’s dynamic repertoire, enhancing your versatility and connecting with the company’s unique style.

Dancers will receive personalised feedback from Phoenix’s company dancers and Artistic Director to refine your technique and ease your transition into the professional world. You’ll also be able to connect with industry professionals and expand your dance network.

Cost to attend is £250. Those interested in applying must be recent dance graduates from university or conservatoire and 18+ years of age.
