Royal Ballet School to Host Q&A for Their Affiliate Teacher Program

Royal Ballet School will be hosting an online Q&A for their Affiliate Training and Assessment Programme on Thursday 27 March 2025 at 15.00 GMT. Applications for 2025 intake are now open for both UK and Hong Kong.

The Affiliate Training and Development Programme is The Royal Ballet School’s initiative for private and recreational dance education. Dance instructors receive direct training from The Royal Ballet School and, upon certification, become Affiliate Teachers authorised to implement the programme at their own studios. They carry out student evaluations, which are subsequently reviewed by The Royal Ballet School.

This groundbreaking programme offers young dancers a comprehensive, top-tier educational experience. It serves as an alternative to conventional recreational training frameworks centred on mastering a syllabus for exams.

Affiliate Teachers encourage students to understand ‘how’ to learn while fostering an appreciation for the journey itself. They enjoy the freedom to mentor and evaluate their students’ progress independently, promoting ongoing professional growth, creativity, and career fulfilment.

In addition to classical ballet techniques and performance abilities, students explore repertoire, choreography, and artistic appreciation.

Affiliate Teachers gain privileged access to a digital collection of over 150 videos, three yearly professional development workshops, a collaborative online network, enrichment opportunities and events, plus exclusive access to Frederick Ashton repertoire.
