Live Well & Dance with Parkinson’s Symposium
The Live Well & Dance with Parkinson’s Symposium will be a celebration of the Live Well & Dance with Parkinson’s programme in all its complexities, the joys and celebration of people coming together through dance and community, whilst navigating the challenges of delivering a large-scale participatory dance project in the context of a world-wide pandemic.
The Symposium will offer an inclusive space where the wide-ranging Live Well & Dance with Parkinson’s community can come together to connect and network. This is a community of participants, people with Parkinson’s who dance, their partners, loved ones and the community in general; dance teaching artists, freelance dancers, people from the clinical/health sector, area creative co-coordinators, project supporters and partners, researchers, academics, volunteers and arts organisations.
The Symposium will create a space for sharing, practical participation and discussion across the ever evolving field of art-led and dance-centred practice in dance with Parkinson’s alongside participant led community action and leadership.
The symposium is hosted by the Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRE) at Coventry University as part of the Midlands4Cities research programme on Friday 24 May from 9:00 – 17:30.
