English National Ballet School Summer Performance
Join English National Ballet School for their Summer Performance showcasing the talents of the School’s exceptional students. Performances will be held July 8 at 7:30 pm and July 9 at 2:30 pm at Sadler’s Wells’ Peacock Theatre.
Presented by Artistic Director Viviana Durante, the annual summer performance is a wonderful opportunity to watch the rising stars of the ballet world.
In this specially curated programme, students from across the school’s three year-groups will showcase their artistry, skill, and versatility, performing extracts from famous classical ballets alongside newly commissioned contemporary works.
The programme will include extracts from La Sylphide, choreographed by former English National Ballet Director and English National Ballet School (ENBS) founder Peter Schaufuss after August Bournonville, as well as George Balanchine’s Who Cares? choreographed to songs by George Gershwin.
The evening is rounded out with three exciting new commissions: Of Space and Time by ENBS Artistic Associate Andrew McNicol, new contemporary work by the award-winning Morgann Runacre-Temple, and Flock by Monique Jonas.
Who Cares? is staged by Deborah Wingert with choreography by George Balanchine (The George Balanchine Trust).
English National Ballet School prepares the finest young dancers for a lifetime of achievement, providing world-class training, education, pastoral care, and performance opportunities.
They equip their students with the confidence, creativity and skills for a career as a professional dancer with the major international companies, and for a future beyond performing. They aspire to be the school of choice for the next generation of ballet artists and to pioneer the future of dance education.
