Company Chameleon seeks experienced dancers for full-time positions in Manchester
Company Chameleon is offering two experienced dancers the opportunity to join its core creative team in full-time, salaried positions at its home studio in Manchester, UK.
The company is looking for accomplished dance artists who have trained at a recognised school or conservatoire. Successful candidates should possess excellent contemporary technique and strong contact improvisation and partnering skills. They must also have at least two years of experience working in a professional touring dance company, along with extensive performance experience, familiarity with a range of choreographic approaches, and proficient teaching skills across different age groups.
As a key member of the creative team, the role encompasses three main areas of responsibility: creating, rehearsing, and performing the company’s repertoire in both indoor venues and outdoor festivals; assisting the Artistic Director and Rehearsal Director in the choreographic and creative development of residencies and projects; and actively delivering the company’s learning and participation programmes, including classes and workshops at the studio, in schools, and in various community settings.
While the position is primarily based at Company Chameleon’s home studio in Manchester, the successful candidates will also be required to undertake national and international touring throughout the year. Applicants must be prepared to relocate to Manchester if they are not already based in the city.
Company Chameleon particularly welcomes applications from Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse individuals, who remain under-represented in the dance sector. Diversity has been central to the company’s identity since its founding almost 20 years ago by people of colour and continues to shape all aspects of its work.
The positions are offered on a full-time two-year contract, with a salary range of £25,000 to £30,000, 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, and working hours of 35 to 43 per week. Dancers will report to the Rehearsal Director and Artistic Director.
To apply, candidates should send a cover letter, CV, headshot and/or images of previous work, video links to recent dance projects (no more than two minutes in total), and a completed Equal Opportunities Form 2026 to info@companychameleon.com, using the subject line ‘Company Dancer Application’. In the cover letter, applicants must state whether they have the right to work in the UK and where they are currently based.
The application deadline is Monday 1 June at 9am. Auditions will be held on Saturday 13 June 2026 from 10am to 6pm (registration from 9:30am) at Company Chameleon, 6 Barrass Street, Openshaw, Manchester, M11 1PU. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by email no later than Friday 5 June with full audition details.
This is a strong opportunity for professional dancers seeking a stable, creatively engaged position with a well-established touring company. For further information or questions, visit companychameleon.com.
