BalletActive: Dance anywhere with English National Ballet in 2025

English National Ballet’s dedicated on-demand online studio, BalletActive, provides access to a wide range of dance, yoga and fitness classes open to everyone and available anytime from the comfort of home or on the move.

At the start of 2025, English National Ballet relaunched the Sofa 2 Studio Challenge, a 3-week free event offering unlimited access to the platform. Each challenge is designed to meet different goals while unveiling the positive impact of dance and exercise in both physical and mental wellbeing.

BalletActive hosts over 200 pre-recorded classes lead by ENB dancers and teachers, ranging from absolute beginners to advanced levels. Classes available on the subscription include ballet, flamenco, contemporary dance, yoga, Pilates, strength & conditioning, and a series of seated classes designed for those with limited mobility. With new classes added regularly, there’s always something new to try.

Ballet lovers also have the opportunity to engage with a Mary Skeaping’s Giselle Masterclass, inspired by English National Ballet’s run of this production at the London Coliseum, from 15 – 18 January 2025.

English National Ballet believes that dance is for everyone, offering plenty of benefits including improved posture, coordination, or even improving overall mood.

On BalletActive, instructor Kate Hartley-Stevens says: “The wonderful thing about doing dance classes at home is that you really can dance like no-one is watching! You can adapt exercises to make it work for your body and your space, and you can pause, rewind and recap as much as you like. Ballet is fantastic for improving posture and coordination, and building strength and flexibility, so give it a go!”

Subscribers also reinforce the benefits of the platform: “These classes are taught at a wonderful pace and help you make big achievements as an absolute beginner”; “Such a great after work workout! Gave me my energy back!”; “These classes feel so good on the body”.

Monthly subscriptions to BalletActive are £9.99. When signing up for an annual package, users get 3 months free, paying £89.91. Classes are available on https://active.ballet.org.uk.
