The International Solo-Dance-Theatre Festival under the artistic direction of Marcelo Santos. It is the only competition throughout Europe that gives young artists the opportunity to present their dancing and choreographic ideas and abilities in front of an international, knowledgeable audience.
The festival offers a good framework for establishing important contacts for an artistic career and into the professional dancing scene for many young dancers and choreographers. On three evenings, six choreographic productions – mostly world premieres – will be presented. On the third evening, the jury will announce the nominations for the final.
The festival focuses on the promotion of young artists. To this end, competitors should be under 30 years old. The choreographed solo dance pieces submitted should be under a year old and between nine and 12 minutes long. The choreographer may interpret his or her own piece.
