Aakash Odedra’s ROOTS is Back!

Curated by Aakash Odedra, ROOTS is a dynamic 5-day program crafted for early and mid-career dancers, blending teaching, learning, and performance to meet today’s industry needs.

For just £250, dancers receive hands-on training, career insights, and performance opportunities. Participants learn from leading artists, including Aakash Odedra, Alleyne Dance, and Akram Khan Company, and take part in masterclasses with top industry figures like Sadler’s Wells’ Alastair Spalding, poet Sabrina Mahfouz, and the British Council’s Skinder Hundal.

ROOTS helps dancers build confidence, gain practical skills, and connect with a supportive network—offering everything you need to make a mark in the dance world.

ROOTS 2025 will take place Monday 10th – Friday 14th February at Birmingham Hippodrome (Studio 1, Level 5 of FABRIC Dance), Thorp St, Birmingham B5 4TB.

Dancers can expect Daily Morning Class and Body Conditioning sessions to prepare for the day; Masterclasses with top artists, including Alleyne Dance, Aakash Odedra, and Akram Khan Company, focusing on technique, expression, and choreography; Guest Speakers like Eva Martines, Sabrina Mahfouz, Skinder Hundal, and Alastair Spalding, offering insights into the dance industry and career development; and Networking and Presentation opportunities, culminating in a participant showcase on the final day.
